Tips for first-time facilitators

  • Share the dartboard while participants are still in the session — response rates drop sharply after people leave.
  • Make it anonymous. Names on the dartboard change the scores.
  • Focus on the lowest-scoring axis after each session, not your average score.

What are the four feedback dimensions?

Relevance (was this the right topic?), Facilitation (was it well-run?), Energy (did people feel engaged?), and Action (do you know what to do next?). Each maps to a different failure mode.

What if nobody places their dot honestly to avoid conflict?

Make it anonymous — have everyone place dots without their name, or use the slide in a shared screen where the dot placer isn't identified. Honest feedback requires psychological safety.
